Sheaf+Barley were invited to be Unbound’s editors as part of their current work as artists in residence at the Live Art Development Agency (LADA). Their residency has included developing the project Weeding, where they have invited anyone with some kind of history with LADA to bring a plant to LADA’s new space at The Garrett Centre, Bethnal Green, to create a living archive there — a promise made between the people who make up LADA both inside and out. Sheaf+Barley have also been working with Simple Gifts, a community programme based at The Garrett Centre, to set up an after-school club for children and young people, to include designing a stained-glass window as part of LADA’s first annual Garrett Centre commission.

"The best books are ones that imagine new worlds, that make us think that we’re there (or almost there), that tell us new things or reposition old things. The best books can be touched and smelt, written on and ripped out, eaten up." - Sheaf+Barley
