Materials of Resistance

Ed. Clare Thornton and Ben Borthwick

Book

To coincide with Clare Thornton’s solo exhibition ‘Materials of Resistance’, which presented new pieces alongside selected earlier mixed media works from the past decade, this publication contains contextual and experimental texts by writers, artists, academics: Phil Owen, Emma Cocker, Conor Wilson, Heike Roms and Natalie Raven.

An exploration of Clare’s long-standing enquiry into materiality and the body including folding, falling, the transformative and trans-decorative this publication is rich in imagery and beautifully designed by City Edition Studios, Bristol.

Clare Thornton is an interdisciplinary artist and educator working from her studio at KARST (Plymouth).
